Folks, we now know that it went gold sometime in early to mid 1967. AFTER the lawsuit was filed. Capitol, royally p**sed with the band, didn't bother to do the math and submit the paperwork. This was discovered around the time that the platinum status was accorded in 2000ish (forget the year). Its platinum award is exclusively pretty much for CD era sales.

Like, he went immediately from "Surfin USA" to "God Only Knows". And it also sounds like PS was his first work with the Wrecking Crew. ::)

Outside of most people here, Pet Sounds is their only LP that is hip to like.
