Title: Mystery Bruce Johnston album
Post by: TheLazenby on June 07, 2007, 11:00:51 PM
I found, on one website, the tracklist for an album called "Fun" by the Catalinas, which was apparently another one of Bruce's gratuitous fly-by-night surf groups.  (It apparently featured Leon Russell on piano.)

However, I can't find ANY other information about this album, and unlike Bruce's other side projects, this one doesn't seem to have been released on CD.

Anybody??

(By the way, if anyone's getting curious... my discography is coming soon.  It will be a downloadable DOC file.)

Might be worth asking Bruce himself, over on the Beach Boys Britain (yellow) board? He seems to appreciate genuine fan interest though can tease from time to time!

Fun was released 9/64 on the RIC label (RIC 1006). Bruce is credited with piano and bvs: the album was produced by (surprise !) Terry Melcher. There was also a 45, "Banzai washout/Beach Walkin'", both sides instrumental.
