Okay, now... I've actually listened to the new, 2007, CD, released version of God Only Knows. And all I can say is that the "litigious" part we were having a cordial fight about is NOT here. We don't hear Bruce anymore.

Just buy the CD (the remake is "listenable", and the new Bacharach-Wilson song is really cool, so go for it) and see (and hear!) for yourselves.

But no one can honestly say that he can still hear the "Bruce" part in the outro.

Verdict: Bruce was indeed featured in the promotional video!  :P


P.S. Voxnut, I'm waiting for the can of Reddi-Whip you owe me.  ;D

All "Bruce" controversy aside, Brian sounds really really good on this! 

He sounds great  on both songs. Wow.

listening to GOK knows. agreed, its listenable but I mean...well you'll hear it.

as for the tag... :lol at ALL the naysayers.

it was definitely bruce (of the 60's recording) in that video snippet. now the question is...why?

Now you're going to make me hafta go and buy the CD so I can hear for myself. Are we going to have a neutral third party run the audio from the video clip and the CD through a scope and see if the frequency patterns match? I mean, after all, for all I know you could be a Reddi-Whip/NOS fiend who will say anything to get a fix! And that Joe guy? He's on the SJB payroll, I just know it. Hey, for all I know you and Joe are on Bruce's payroll in a big scheme to get him away from Mike and in Brian's touring band! "Psst... hey you two start this thing that I'm the voice at the end of the video, then folks will buy the CD and say 'meh, I liked the coda on the video better' and Brian's camp will be sure to ask me out on the next tour due to public outcry!"

I guess it's not a question of a subtle frequency difference... Because then we wouldn't be able to hear it. But some things don't need a scientific explanation; in that case, I'd rather believe what I hear than believe in some strange curves and numbers...

...And even if I compared the frequencies, I suspect you'd tell me that the difference is because of the backing track (and that *would* be true), so you'd say that we'd need the vocals-only mix of the 2007 GOK...  :lol

...And IF I managed to get the vocals-only mix and prove you that you're wrong, you'd probably just tell me that my audio editing software is part of a global conspiracy aiming to say that Bruce is God. And you'd leave the board.  ;D

Seriously now, do you want me to PM my address for the can of Reddi-Whip?  ;D
