Title: Synth sound question Post by: matt-zeus on January 28, 2007, 02:37:26 PM This might be more appropriate in the Musicians bit, but I thought i'd ask here anyway.
I just wanted to know if anyone knew what synth makes the string ensemble sound on 'In the still of the night', it comes in at 0.48 and sticks around for the duration of the track, it's a very late 70s icy synth sound and sounds like the same one used on David Bowies 'Sound and Vision' (0.38) and I also here it on Dave Edmunds/California Music's 'Londons a lonely town' (1.27). That's my educated guess given the sound on "In The Still Of The Night". The synth is about the right vintage, but I'm no expert, so maybe Josh can chime in here at some point.
