Title: Honeys/American Spring vocals- who's who
Post by: Amy B. on November 11, 2006, 09:25:16 AM
With that American Spring thread there, I was wondering if anyone can provide info on which voice is which in the Honeys and American Spring. I only have the songs on the Pet Productions CD- He's a Doll, Tonight You Belong to Me, Fallin' in Love, etc.

I assume that the main voice is usually Ginger's. Even though I've heard Marilyn on some BBs songs I have trouble distinguishing her voice in the Honeys. Do Diane and Marilyn have similar voices?

I kind of had a feeling that this wouldn't get any responses. I guess it's not something that's generally known or discussed.

Amy, the two sisters do sound a great deal alike.  I've never seen a breakdown of who sings what, and I haven't listened to my Spring collection lately.  I'd recommend listening to "Let's Put Our Hearts Together" on "Love You" to get a good example of Marilyn's voice, since that's her alone, then listen to Spring.  I think Marilyn's voice is a bit lighter than Diane's, and slightly higher.

Spring vocals as follows;

All tracks are Marilyn leads except -
Everybody - Diane
Sweet Mountain - both

As regards the Honeys, the best example of a Ginger lead is "The One You Can't Have"
