I somehow don't seem to connect with latter day Dylan all too well, yet the lyrics of "Thunder on the Mountain" have certainly convinced me to give it another try.

Incredible and transcendent. If someone locked Crowded House and Tears For Fears into a studio together and said they couldn't get out until they made an epic track, this would be it.

I personally think Sea Change is his best but this new one is phenominal. The Information however is a very fresh and dynamic sounding album.

Would you happen to know the title of the song that Beck performed on SNL a couple weekends ago? It was him on guitar/harmonica and his band rocking out with silverware on a dinner table and random objects. Sounded really good. I know it had elements of One Foot In The Grave which was originally on Beck's excellent 1994 release Stereo Pathetic Soul Manure, it was a cool performance. I've probably listened to 200 albums released in 2006, so you might be barking up the wrong tree with me on that one. I was just saying the Lips' mediocre efforts are better than many other people's best. I tend to be one of the people around here who champions new music (as opposed to the old/rehashed crap). (Released yesterday in the states, a 3-disc set originally intended to be a rarities album, but that ended up with new songs, re-recordings of old songs and rarities. Something like 30+ new ones)
