I went into a club last night with some of my friends, and the dj played a good mix. That being he started off with "Surfer Girl", then after a couple songs, he played "California Girls", and "Sloop John B". It was random, but nice to sip on a beer and listen to some good music. Wasn't expecting hearing the boys at a club, especially a more upscale one. I requested later in the night to play "Heroes and Villians", but he didn't have it, oh well. Was a good night

I think the BB's are just starting to get some kind of resurgance going, kind of like the Beatles did in the mid 90's with the Anthology.  It will soon be cool (perhaps for the first time since 1966) to listen to the Beach Boys.

Oh, that reminds me, when I was in 4th grade some kids were picking on me one day, and just doing typical kid stuff.  They started ragging me about music, and asked me who my favorite band was.  I was shy and embarassed to tell them all I listened to was 60's rock and roll, so I told them my favorite band's initials were "BB".  They guessed the Beastie Boys, and I told them no, so next they guessed the Beach Boys.  I said "yeah, that's my favorite band" and these 3 or 4 kids that were giving me crap just went "Oh.... yeah, they're cool" and that was the end of that, I couldn't believe it!  that was about 1987 and I was 9.

You're quite lucky then. I'm 18, and in my University it's kinda uncool to listen to the Beach Boys. Play "I Get Around" and people will find that "funny". Not cool, but "funny". Then, try playing something like "Here Comes The Night" ('67 version) or "Trader" and they will never talk to you again.  :(

Welcome to the club.

30 years ago it was the same thing......Endless Summer was oft-heard but Smiley Smile to Holland were something you listened to in the BB Fan "Closet".     15 BO? You might leave the door open a crack......

You must be pretty young, having a user name like that! I'm "only" 25 and would never remember a name such as yours when signing in...  :P

My friends and I are into progressive artistic music, so several of them liked the BBs that I introduced them to of the 66-73 era. One of them, a huge Pink Floyd fan, loved MV&F the fairy tale! Several people really liked the Friends album, which suprised me cuz I thought they would think it was cheesy.
