Chris Rainbow (Birth name is Chris Harley, born in Glasgow UK Nov. 18, 1946.) "Dear Brian" was simply "A Tribute song to Brian". Chris is a Scottish singer/songwriter much influenced by the Beach Boys.Chris sang lead for "The Alan Parsons Project". In 1974, he had embarked on a solo career. "Looking Over My Shoulder" and "Home of the Brave" were his first albums. Five singles followed: "Living in the World Today," "All Night," "Mr. Man," "Give Me What I Cry For," and "Solid State Brain." On BBC TV last night Elton John, on brilliant form particularly on the piano, played some songs from his new album at a small London theatre. One was a great song called 'Postcards from Richard Nixon' (!) which featured a line about he and his pals looking for 'Brian Wilson's promised land'. |
