Title: Great Lyrical One Liners or Phrases Post by: positivemusic on August 23, 2023, 11:40:53 AM I was revisiting Coldplay recently, and was reminded just how hard the line "for some reason I can't explain, I know St. Peter won't call my name" always hits.
So, I'm just curious what one line or phrase in a song hits you all just the right way, or that you feel is pure gold. Another one of my favorites is "the truth is you could slit my throat, and with my one last gasping breath I'd apologize for bleeding on your shirt," from "You're So Last Summer" by Taking Back Sunday. In chorus, high vocals sing "And dark clouds are like people. Like people they're lonely. But still dark clouds are not as cruel".

Best I can come up with, half asleep at a coffeehouse (caffeine not doing its job lol) is Paul Simon’s “A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest” from The Boxer. Welcome back RangeRoverA1! Have been thinking about you over the past years. Hope you have fared well in these crazy times. |
