I always loved that song and actually wouldn't have had a problem had the Beach Boys done a couple of more songs in this R'n'B-flavored sound around this time. Mike's lead is wonderful and I believe this may be the first time a Bruce falsetto was featured on a Beach Boys recording. It's interesting that the album (Summer Days and Summer Nights) starts with two 'answer'-songs (this one and "Amusement Parks U. S. A."). I wonder if that was just a coincidence or if Brian had something else in mind with that.
