Title: "If the formula works, don't goof with it" Post by: El Jefe on December 09, 2022, 09:57:04 PM I'd never seen this incredible Brian Wilson quote from 1991 until a moment ago, when I read the Washington Post article (https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/style/1991/12/01/brian-wilson-and-the-angry-vibrations/17783698-814c-40fc-9a29-f0cf3fb63df3/) it appeared in:
Quote "They probably want control of me," says Brian Wilson of his family's petition [to appoint a conservator for him], "but they will not get it, they will not get it. I say let sleeping dogs lie. If the formula works, don't goof with it. That's one of my major philosophies in life. It's been working." Was this a cleaned-up version of Mike's infamous advice from decades earlier? Or did this quote give rise to the stories about that infamous advice? (I prefer to believe a third explanation: Brian Wilson is a time traveler, and he gave this interview after traveling to the 2010s and reading way too many Beach Boys message boards.) |
