Title: New Brian Demo: “I Feel This Love” 1987
Post by: ForHerCryingSoul on January 31, 2022, 01:50:16 PM
Once again, Brian Wilson never fails to surprise me. Completely new and cool sound! Much more organic than the 88 album we got instead.

Interesting.  Sounds like he reworked this as "Baby Let Your Hair Grow Long."

Brian was working on both Baby Let Your Hair Grow Long and I Feel This Love around the same time, with lots of overlap. BLYHGL also dates earlier as a composition. Similar melodies, but neither turned into the other

Interesting demo. Sounds of a similar ilk to a lot of that era.

It is indeed interesting because it does have that one bit that is similar to a section of "Baby Let You Hair Grow Long."

As I've said before, if they're *not* inclined to do a Brian solo boxed set of unreleased material, this format of dumping stuff on his website is a cool alternative. Hopefully they'll amp up the pace on putting more stuff up. There is obviously a bunch of stuff we've *never* heard, or maybe never even heard *of*, to say nothing of the ability to upgrade stuff as a number of the website tracks do.

Gosh between this song, the copyright 'release', and Mike's Sounds of Summer mention, they all seem to point to bigger things to come in the year.  ;)

There are big things coming this year, although I don't know how much the Brian website activity has to do with any of it.

It seems like they relaunched/redesigned Brian's website in anticipation of the documentary last year, and surprisingly added some truly rare audio material. It's a bit surprising they haven't taken that rare material and monetized it a bit by packaging it up for Spotify and digital sales at least.

I've said it many times in the past, they should do a multi-disc set of Brian rarities and just call it "The Bedroom Tapes" even if that moniker would be somewhat of a misnomer.
