Title: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: thetojo on November 22, 2021, 03:37:03 PM Are we expecting any December treats?
Live shows? Stray 'unreleasable' tracks? Didn't Mark mention in an interview a few months back that there was at least one more Dennis track from the Poops sessions that didn't make it into the box set. Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: All Summer Long on November 23, 2021, 05:40:24 PM Mark Linett hinted in a Facebook comment a few months ago that there would be a follow-up set in December...on someone's post about the box set (I can't remember who), he commented "and more."

Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: Joel Goldenberg on November 23, 2021, 07:03:33 PM I would go for 79 minutes of just Break Away sessions. There wasn't enough of that song on the box set (My only criticism of that wonderful collection).
Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: Lonely Summer on November 23, 2021, 09:01:48 PM I've got enough Feel Flows with just the 2 disc version. Waiting now for whatever they decide to call the CATP/Holland box. Maybe "All This is That"?
Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: thetojo on December 15, 2021, 12:19:45 PM Okay, now we're heading towards the 3rd Friday in December, I'm feeling like something's gotta be coming soon-ish.

Silly Walls, the birthday party performances of the Mr. Sandman/Chipmunk Song/Sonata Facile, as well as the May Syracuse and June Fillmore East shows from 1971.If we're counting stuff that is NOT bootlegged: . San Miguel (Early Version) . Country and Western (basic Carl demo recorded in 1969, featuring many overdubbed acoustic guitars) . Don't Go Near the Water (Piano Rehearsal/Demo) . Take a Load Off Your Feet (Demo) . Lookin' at Tomorrow (Demo) . Dennis' Piano Interlude (WIBNTLA/Barbara Piano Demo) . Remember That Feeling (Dennis/Gregg Jakobson Christmas song demoed in late 1969) . Susie Cincinnati (Version One) . Untitled #3 . Cool Cool Water (Two alternate versions; one an a cappella experiment, the other an alternate instrumental track) . The Fred Vail Country Album . Back Home (Version Four; recorded during the mid-August 1970 sessions. Basic track only.) . New Hit Single (Early version of Barnyard Blues) . Telephone Backgrounds (On a Clear Day) . Two untitled Dennis Wilson tracks (one a studio demo, the other a backing track) . Sea Cruise Yeah, thinking about how all of that is gonna rot away in the vaults isn't very fun lol Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: SMiLE Brian on January 17, 2022, 03:48:41 PM Good work jiggy!

Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: Emdeeh on January 29, 2022, 04:40:01 PM Someone has found it, on Bandcamp of all places. Looks to be another cop ex samples release, waiting for a proper release later.

Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: Rocker on January 30, 2022, 08:19:25 AM Whatever it is, it was uploaded to youtube just now....
The Beach Boys - The Bandcamp Extension - Filmore East 1971 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMuZTE2PfUQ Thanks to a very shady release on bandcamp, we now have this. Unfortunately some of the songs cut out before the ending. 1. Heroes and Villains - 0:00 2. Do It Again - 2:07 3. Cottonfields - 3:36 4. Help Me Rhonda - 4:59 5. Wouldn't It Be Nice - 7:24 6. Your Song - 9:09 7. Student Demonstration Time - 13:57 8. Good Vibrations - 19:13 9. California Girls - 24:09 10. I Get Around - 25:38 11. It's About Time - 26:51 12. Ruff Mix - 31:51 Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? I guess nothing came of this...? I’ve looked again to try to find the post but I cannot find it. I thought it was one of Ed Roach or Howie Edelson’s FB posts, but maybe I was mistaken as to as the original poster. EDIT: I also cannot find the studio recordings on this Bandcamp page - only 4 live shows from 1971. Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? I heard the Flame album and those 1971 tracks and a HQ version of Your Song (live). So it's out there! Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: superunison on February 03, 2022, 01:37:23 PM So is there a reason no one else is talking about this? Trying not to upset the powers that be by acknowledging it was posted? Just For You certainly warrants some discussion! Shares a few chord changes with another Dennis gem before going in a different direction!

Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: ♩♬🐸 Billy C ♯♫♩🐇 on February 03, 2022, 04:08:52 PM I’ll be honest…I’m not entirely sure this was a typical bootleg type leak. Why? If it was third party, 2021 already passed and these are public domain. This is more than likely the same thing that happened with Feel Flows. And for those who are critical of the way things are being handled, well , they certainly got people talking about the band again. This branches off into what would be better off served in a different post , but the jist of it is this: The Beach Boys are *hot*right now for a legacy band. Any negativity towards the brand is generally restricted towards this message boards and older fans (up to and including my generation). The millennials and especially Gen Z have a completely different view of the band , and the fact that The Beach Boys have gained over 1500 followers on Spotify *daily* for months now on *average* speaks volumes. But yeah that’s another post ….
Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: Emdeeh on February 04, 2022, 12:47:57 PM Steve Desper posted on another board that this was a copyright extension release.
It was put up in late December and pulled shortly after folks started sharing some of the tracks on YouTube (those vids subsequently removed at BRI's request). So it was up for about one month. Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: Jim V. on February 04, 2022, 10:19:39 PM So make fun of me if you want, but I bought all 5 of the MISC TRACKS 1971 release, all separately as that cost less than buying the "set" for $9.99 or whatever it was.
Funny thing is though, I got a refund from Bandcamp today. So are we sure this was indeed sanctioned by Brother Records? I just think it's interesting they didn't keep my money if it was something on the level. Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? They violated Bandcamp's terms of use by so doing, thus everybody who bought anything from them got refunded. Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: guitarfool2002 on February 05, 2022, 09:40:48 AM This is ridiculous. So the tracks are cataloged, prepared, and uploaded (under cover of darkness) to Bandcamp of all places, then pulled, and will fans be able to legitimately buy these recordings at some point? Or is it radio silence yet again?
I thought the "blockbuster" deal struck with the band's catalog and legacy was going to prevent this kind of fumbling around with the catalog. Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Josh, could you please explain which Bandcamp's "terms of use" were violated by the Beach Boys? And how much did it cost to listen/download the tracks? Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: guitarfool2002 on March 04, 2022, 08:49:37 AM Again I'll say the whole thing on the surface is ridiculous. For Capitol to dump tracks to Bandcamp - an upload site for artists and podcasters which anyone can join, start an account and upload their music either for free or for purchase - seems to have been an undercover way to establish a release of those tracks to reclaim the copyright under those existing and often absurd "rules" regarding copyrights running out. And it seems like it was done as a placeholder until a future release to establish that copyright ownership by showing proof of a release date within the time frame...not expecting anyone to actually find and try to buy the tracks.
So yes, I'm also confused as to this point about violating the terms of use on Bandcamp, since there really aren't many terms of use to begin with and pretty much anyone can record a 3 minute clip of themselves screaming into a mic and upload it for sale on Bandcamp with little restriction. And if Capitol did it, I'd think any violation if that's what it was would have been by design. Selling the tracks wasn't the goal, and I think they hoped no one would find them until the release date could be established and then they'd be pulled anyway. They've done similar things before. I'm just saying that's what it seems happened, not stating what exactly happened. But for a catalog that was just purchased for literally tens of millions of dollars, and one of the last few remaining major labels from the old days being involved, it all seems a little ridiculous to do this and have people find it. My question is after the tracks were purchased by whoever bought them, did they actually receive access to hear the tracks, or was the purchase canceled before it even went through? Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: Joshilyn Hoisington on March 04, 2022, 03:02:31 PM People who paid for them were able to download them, they got access.
I can't speak for Bandcamp, but I'd imagine if pressed, they'd cite their term of use "You shall not...upload...[anything] you know is false, misleading, untruthful or inaccurate". That could just be a loose pretext for simply not appreciating being party to a bad-faith workaround of a loophole in copyright law, though -- again, i'm not privy to the inner workings of the company's decision to declare that the terms were violated. Title: Re: Feel Flows vol 2? Post by: JonEverett on June 16, 2022, 07:55:01 AM Do we know about these on YT?
