Title: Johnny Rivers "Help Me Rhonda"
Post by: Shane on August 30, 2006, 07:05:07 PM
I just picked up this 45 today, and spent some time straining my ears, trying to pick out Brian's voice.  Do we know if he actually sang on this record?  Gosh, it is hard to tell.  The label specifically thanks Brian... I wonder if its for singing on the record, or just for inspiration!

Allegedly, he was in the studio and did 1 take of background vocals. Although some folks here will disagree, I clearly hear him during the refrain on the left channel.

Why? Brian just sat there and didn't say a word or what?

Where is that bit of Murry in the studio session for HMR?  Is that on the EH dvd? The audio playing over some stillls of the session?

Tell that to Johnny Rivers

It's a famous Brian quote...when he's getting ready to toss Murry out of the Rhonda session...as Donald alluded. Has little to do with your comment...but when brian says that on the tape it always makes me laugh. Typical Brian left field kind of thing.

He is doing the high part. Still sounds great to me.
