Title: Who was "John B."? Post by: PickupExcitations on April 01, 2020, 08:55:49 AM Everybody knows "Sloop John B"and it was originated from a Bahamian folk song. But what was the last name of this John guy? Did he exist in the real world? And if he did, what actually happened about his sloop? And what was the relationship between the narrator and John?
Just don't have a clue, even in Wikipedia... Title: Re: Who was \ Post by: juggler on April 01, 2020, 10:46:55 AM There are claims (without a ton of supporting information) that the John B. was named after John Bethel, an early settler in the Bahamas.
