Title: Does anyone have info about this Smile vinyl bootleg? Post by: doodledoo on October 12, 2017, 10:58:02 PM https://www.discogs.com/The-Beach-Boys-The-Beach-Boys-Smile/release/9582989
So I picked this up at a local record store about a month ago. I've tried searching for more info online (and here) but I can't seem to find any details about when this was released, who released it, etc. My copy looks just like the one pictured in Discogs. Does anyone know anything about this bootleg? Btw I'm new here, hope I'm following the right protocol and everything :) Title: Re: Does anyone have info about this Smile vinyl bootleg? Post by: JK on October 13, 2017, 02:47:36 AM Seems it was originally released in 1991 as a double LP:
Smile (no labels – 2 record set) Side 1: Good Vibrations I * Good Vibrations II * Good Vibrations (Work Pieces) * Barnyard * With Me Tonight (early version) Side 2: Can’t Wait Too Long * Wonderful * Holidays * Vegatables (including Mama Said) * Child is the Father to the Man Side 3: Heroes and Villains * Do You Like Worms?/Bicycle Rider * Wind Chimes * Cabinessence * Old Master Painter/You Are My Sunshine * Our Prayer Side 4: Tones * Mrs. O’Leary’s Cow (Fire) * George Fell Into His French Horn * Surf’s Up * Cool Water * You’re Welcome * Smile Promo Ad Sources: http://mickey-cheatham.blogspot.nl/2012/09/im-still-smilin.html http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,18459.msg482690.html#msg482690] http://www.rootsvinylguide.com/ebay_items/beach-boys-smile-capitol-double-lp-set-sea-of-tunes-rare-release Title: Re: Does anyone have info about this Smile vinyl bootleg? Post by: doodledoo on October 13, 2017, 12:42:25 PM Thanks for the info, JK! This helps clear things up. I thought the track selection was rather odd, but knowing that it's part of a 2 LP set makes more sense. Now I'm wishing I had the second LP of this release!
And it's good to know where it came from. (Sea of Tunes, according to this source—http://www.rootsvinylguide.com/ebay_items/beach-boys-smile-capitol-double-lp-set-sea-of-tunes-rare-release). Also the Durrie acetate dub of H&V incorporating I'm In Great Shape? So you sit in a big f*cking jacuzzi with a big f*cking cigar listening to this sh*t then come on here like Lord f*cking Muck? Billy, I'm shocked......... Title: Re: Does anyone have info about this Smile vinyl bootleg? Post by: Aomdiddlywalla on October 14, 2017, 01:04:53 AM Lol!

http://www.rootsvinylguide.com/ebay_items/beach-boys-smile-capitol-double-lp-set-sea-of-tunes-rare-release with white labels instead of black/no labels and the smileshop on the front.
