Title: How well-known were the BB connections to The Honeys/Spring back in the day? Post by: CenturyDeprived on January 10, 2017, 09:56:44 AM Listening to the American Spring record this morning, I started wondering: how many of the public knew that this material was associated with The BBs back at the time of its release? I mean, I know people could read the credits and see Brian Wilson's name here and there, but other than that, the connection wasn't exactly something advertised to the public very much, right? I know of Brian's interview with Diane, but to a random person going to a record shop, I'm guessing this music went undiscovered to many.

I heard them played on a Houston, TX AM radio station (with a long reach) and the DJ talked about their connection to Brian.

Post by: JK on January 11, 2017, 05:42:40 AM Living in the UK, I heard "Surfin' Down The Swanee River" at least once on Radio Luxembourg at the time of its release but I can't recall any connection with Brian being made. I think it was treated as just another rocked-up version of an old song.
