Title: Caroline, No Post by: SMiLE Brian on June 22, 2016, 11:33:48 AM Such a brilliant song at the original speed, BW is doing for young people what Sinatra did for middle aged to older people!

Title: Re: Caroline, No Post by: SMiLE Brian on June 22, 2016, 12:49:54 PM Yeah BW is singing his heart out on every word on the original speed.

I do believe it was Robert Kenyatta Title: Re: Caroline, No Post by: ♩♬🐸 Billy C ♯♫♩🐇 on June 22, 2016, 02:13:13 PM ^ Yup...at least according to Wikipedia. I stand corrected ^_^

Title: Re: Caroline, No Post by: Christian on June 22, 2016, 10:34:30 PM It´s neither Charles Lloyd nor Robert Kenyatta. It´s Ricky Fataar playing the flute here.

If that's true, color me surprised...didn't know Ricky played the flute (knew he played guitar and keys in addition to drums), and I thought he was on percussion on this track. We need official confirmation...Ian, Jon, or c-man...any insight? Title: Re: Caroline, No Post by: Sjöman on June 23, 2016, 02:10:19 AM From the 'Breaking down "In Concert"' thread:
Despite Robert Kenyatta often being credited in connection with this album as a woodwind player, he is in fact a percussionist. The flute on CAROLINE, NO and the intro to SLOOP is played here by Ricky Fataar. Title: Re: Caroline, No Post by: thorgil on June 23, 2016, 03:15:05 AM Amazing!

Awesome. ..thank you Title: Re: Caroline, No Post by: marcella27 on June 23, 2016, 11:31:12 AM I remember seeing Ricky playing flute at those early '70s shows. Wow, Ricky is so talented. A great drummer, a really good singer and now I find out he also plays flute. I really wish that he could have been included in Brian's current tour. It would be amazing to have Blondie and Ricky there. |
