Title: Al Kooper's top 100 'recordings'
Post by: Smilin Ed H on May 20, 2016, 10:10:15 AM
You can get all pissy over this, but the guy has taste as far as numero uno is concerned:

Glad to see some recognition of pre DSOTM Pink Floyd.

I like Al's list! Great comments on each album too, short but incisive on each one.

A lot of fantastic music in there. Most satisfying to see Free getting their due....

I agree with this. I don't know the guy but I see Stan Getz getting mention which is cool. This title interests me: "44. MUSIC OF BULGARIA - PHILLIPE KOUTEV & CHOIR".
Btw, it should be not "100 albums" because there are singles.

The title on the page is: "100 GREATEST RECORDINGS OF ALL TIME"

And perhaps we should give Smilin Ed H slack in having said "albums" because it doesn't matter. At all.

[I didn't say it does. I read the article title. I said that as tiny observation. I don't see how it is not "giving slack" to Smilin Ed H.]

You're pointing out something critical for no reason whatsoever. That means you're not giving him any slack. You could easily just not mention it. People tend not to like people who point out tiny, irrelevant critiques all the time.

Great list, always interested in what he has to say.  Pet Sounds #1, we can dig it.  Impressed by the true  eclecticism, and 2 Isley Brothers offerings.  And Paul Revere and the Raiders!
