in all seriousness... what is the funkiest thing the Beach Boys laid down?

the Wild Honey album is so R&B influenced, and A Thing or Two in particular is pretty funky for this band at that time. it's all about the bass and is so unlike anything they did up to that point. or since really.

Everything on Wild Honey but especially "I Was Made to Love Her".

Suzie Cincinnati

But probably the funkiest would have to be You Need a Mess of Help to Stand Alone

I've always felt that the vocals during the chorus of "Here Comes The Night" are wonderfully funky.

I've always been kind of in awe of this clip, and others around this era where Bruce mimes on bass...since he's apparently not a great player, but he's awesome at miming the parts correctly.

Most of the stuff mentioned in the thread is more r&b than funk, but that clip, man!
