Title: Carl Wilson and The Rolling Stones Post by: The Real Barnyard on February 21, 2016, 12:23:28 PM On a Beach Boys article in a Spanish magazine from several years ago, it is mentioned that Carl once attended a Rolling Stones concert and he ran out at the beginning because they were "too noisy".
I've never heard of this anywhere else. Is it true? Anybody knows? ??? I don't believe it. I have a recording of him on Seattle radio in 1977, and he says they are the best live band he's seen.I've never heard of this anywhere else. Is it true? Anybody knows? ??? Title: Re: Carl Wilson and The Rolling Stones Post by: Pretty Funky on February 21, 2016, 03:34:24 PM I remember reading this in the late 70s early 80s and I may still have the source somewhere. It may have been the magazine 'The Beach Boys are Rocking On'.
I found it strange, and my first thought was that it sounded more Brian rather than Carl. Title: Re: Carl Wilson and The Rolling Stones Post by: Bill30022 on February 21, 2016, 03:56:11 PM People Magazine in 1976.
Title: Re: Carl Wilson and The Rolling Stones Post by: MikestheGreatest!! on February 22, 2016, 11:24:07 AM I find this totally believable. They were pretty damned loud. That doesn't necessarily mean he didn't like their recorded music, however, as some seem to infer!

You're right! http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20066804,00.html The Beach Boys' sweet harmonies have soothed his savage breast. "I'm a fool for it," he confesses. "I love playing and singing more than I ever have. If those people didn't want us there, we wouldn't have anything to do on Saturday nights." All the same, he's showing signs of a generation gap at 29. At a recent Rolling Stones concert, Carl could only take the decibels for 10 minutes. Carl is talking about some modern country act, and says they rock as much as a good Stones record.
