Although I grew up listening to the Beach Boys since childhood and adolescence (1960s and 1970s), I began following the band only last summer. I am learning more about the Beach Boys now more than I ever did in my entire life despite hearing a lot of their hit songs on the radio.
Brian is my obsession, but all of the members Al, Mike, Carl and Dennis are like personal imaginary friends to me. I met Mike and Bruce last week at a concert in Brooklyn, NY. Your story sounds similar to mine. After growing up with the Boys' music they became an obsession in 2003 when I first heard "All I Wanna Do".
