They did "Dancing In the Street" for a while in the early 90's. I remember Carl sounding particularly good on the "sweet sweet music" bg vocals.

When they toured with Chicago in '89, they did covers of Dancing In the Street, In the Midnight Hour and Feeling Stronger Every Day but this was during the combined set when both bands played together so I'm not sure if that counts for this list.

There are also some soundboard clips on YouTube (or at least, were up recently) of the BBs joining Chicago during their 1989 tour for "You're the Inspiration" (Carl on part of the lead), "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" (Al on partial lead), and "Wishing You Were Here" (Carl and Mike on parts of the lead).

I have a big list somewhere on an old file of all the BB songs performed live that weren't on live albums (both covers and BB tracks, alternate leads, etc.). A few off the top of my head as far as covers:

Love Me Tender (done at least once after Elvis died)
Come Softly To Me (late 1981 and/or early 1982)
Be My Baby (late '81 and/or early '82)
Bony Maronie (1984)
Oh, Pretty Woman (around 1996 with Chris Farmer singing lead, if you want to count that)

Don't know if we want to count semi "Solo" sets during BB concerts, like Dennis's in 1977 or Brian's in 1989. If so, we could include:

What's Wrong (1977; there was another Dennis song from POB done during those sets, can't remember which)
Love and Mercy (1989)
Walkin' the Line (1989)
Melt Away (1989)

Also, "Hey Little Cobra" during the 1986 tour.

They also did "Wishing You Were Here" *without* Chicago later in 1975 after the "Beachago" tour ended.

Also, done at least once in 1989 during Brian's solo set (also occurring during the "Beachago" tour) was a performance of Brian's "Country Feeling."

If "Monster Mash" doesn't count because it appeared on the BEACH BOYS CONCERT album, wouldn't "Back in the USSR" not count because it appeared on the FOURTH OF JULY: A ROCKIN' CELEBRATION OF AMERICA LP?

Same with "What'd I Say," which was on the Australian BRIAN WILSON / BEACH BOYS RARITIES LP.

Did they every actually do "Happy Birthday America" in a live concert? I know the Mike studio recording has some audience noise at the front of it, but I never knew they tried it live.

Nope... also, not a BB track, credited to "Mike Love & Friends".

My mistake. I could have *sworn* I had it on a live boot somewhere, but I just checked and I don't.

I am not sure if Little Lady counts! Then I would have to add Little Cycle - Little Honda. When did the each BOys preform Little lady?

I will add Eight Days A Week but shes leaving home was already added! Tell me why was covered already on a beach boys album!

Edit: Added audio for Little GTO from 1987.

I thought Little Lady was done during the 1993 European tour and in 1986 they were still doing it as Lady Liberty.

My bad, the more so because I saw them do "Little Lady" at Wembley in 1993. Duh.

According to setlists.fm, they did "Friday Night" during the Dennis set on August 28, 1977 in Toronto.

If we're including Brian solo shows, we also have "You Keep a Knockin'" from a few years ago.

From setlists.fm (can't always assume every listing is accurate of course):

Kansas City (9/15/62)
Foggy Mountain Breakdown (12/31/64) (reportedly with Glen Campbell on lead)
Crying (2/19/65) (reportedly with Glen Campbell on lead)
Daydream (5/8/66)
New Orleans (3/17/67)
Merry Christmas, Baby (12/15/67) (the UNICEF show; setlists.fm contends this is not the BB song)
Goober Peas (4/24/68) (Dunno if this was just quick off the cuff thing)
Brown Sugar (3/28/75)

Brian Wilson
Proud Mary (1/28/91)
This Could Be the Night (1999; although I guess technically his studio recording was on a tribute album)
Country Road (11/1/09) (Anyone remember this? Never know what might be a transcription error)
My Sweet Lord (the George Fest thing; thought that is about to be released)
When I'm 64 (2015)

Al Jardine
Monday, Monday (1998/1999)
Sea Cruise (various times in 2000s) (I think Ed Carter often sings this? And, I know it was technically released by the BBs)
So Long It's Been Good to Know You (2014)
Where Have All the Flowers Gone? (2014)

There might be some other Al covers, but I think some of them are done by other guys in his off-shoot bands, like guys from the Rip Chords, etc. when he did the "Surf City All Star" band and whatnot.

Mike & Bruce
Gimme Some Lovin' (12/5/98)
I Can't Get No Satisfaction (7/23/03)
The Girl from Ipanema (10/10/05)
My Remote (reportedly a Christian Love song, performed at least twice in 2008)
To Sir With Love (7/28/13) (performed with Lulu)
Rock-a-Hula Baby (1/12/14) (with Stamos no doubt)
Unleash the Love (2/20/14)

There have also been numerous versions of "Happy Birthday" over the years if we want to count that.

They also did "Sister Golden Hair" in 1990 during some shows Mike missed, with Gerry Beckley singing the lead.

Mike and Bruce did "Jingle Bell Rock" in 2005 and 2006.

Brown Sugar? Cool! Would've kicked ass with Carl on lead, but since Mike sang Jumpin' Jack Flash he might have sung this too.

My 100% guess would be that Mike probably sang it.

I don't know if it's been mentioned or not, but The Beach Boys did Day Tripper a few times in 1983.

The john lennon song imagine in the early 80s, there's footage on YouTube of it, maybe Seattle 1982/3

Cool!  A live version dated  9.4.1983 at Stanley Theatre, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania is kicking around on Surfin' Rarities Vol 5, I'm, err, told.  The liner notes don't indicate if it the track is from the 7.30 show or the 10pm.

'Lucille' from 86 with Jeff Foskett on lead vocal and Jimmy Page.

Shouldn't the clip say 1985?

It's only my preference, but I'd put the guest spots and TV special guest performances and stuff like that in a separate category. I really don't consider the Everlys singing "Wake Up Little Suzie" on the 25th Anniversary TV special as a "Beach Boys" performance in any way. They're essentially a backing band (and I think most or all of that entire show is live vocals or mimed vocals on top of pre-recorded backing tracks).

"Lucille" barely qualifies as well, as it was added presumably as a "Jimmy Page" performance, and someone had to sing the lead on it.

As for "Day Tripper", my vague recollection is that the band, back in the Carl era, never actually did a full performance of the song. Wasn't it just riffing on the song for a bit or something like that? I haven't listened to most of those wonky 80s audience recordings in ages, so I can't remember for sure.

For Al's first "Family & Friends" gig in late 1998, he wrote a song called "The Eternal Ballad" and performed it. It's a questionable inclusion on this list I suppose, as a studio recording was technically officially released, but only on Japanese pressings of "A Postcard from California."

But in the US and UK anyway, it remains an "unreleased" song.

On at least some of Mike's solo 1981 setlists, he did "California Beach" (an unreleased song, which I recall is an alternate version of the also-unreleased track "Skatetown USA").

But that was on MIU so not an unrecorded song by the group.

Who sang lead on Day Tripper?

C-man mentions it in his set list (on Eric A's magnificent site) for Pittsburgh on April 9, 1983:

http://members.tripod.com/~fun_fun_fun/4-9-83.html

Maybe he can recall who sang it on that occasion...

I can  put the guest spots and TV special guest performances and stuff like that in a separate category if you list off which ones are and are not! I don't have audio or video for them all so I wouldn't be 100% sure on them all to make an accurate list.

At the unicef show in 1967 the bbs sang oh come all ye faithful not merry Christmas baby. I think badman made that error because he hadn't seen video of the performance which is now on YouTube

Also "what a day for a rainstorm" is just another version of "daydream" it was raining that day and mike was making a joke. If you know the song it makes sense

By the way as I've said elsewhere setlist.fm is a site that is really only accurate for modern (post 2000 or so) shows. When they created the historical set lists they either copied from badman (who as we know has many errors) Eric's site or my book with Jon

They also did Wipeout (the original instrumental) during some of the 1987 tours.
