Title: Snuff Garrett, 1939-2015
Post by: rn57 on December 24, 2015, 10:12:37 AM
Last Thursday Thomas Lesslie Garrett, known more familiarly as Snuff, died in Arizona. Below, his NY Times obit - which explains how he got that nickname. It's a rare thing to listen to an oldies station for a day or two without hearing at least one of his productions.  RIP

PS - here's another obit listing his highest-charting records. That's still just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his work.

That's a real shame. The first ten years in that list of Garrett's productions read like a soundtrack of my school days, particularly the Gene McDaniels and Bobby Vee songs. R.I.P., sir.
