Title: A Christmas gift to smiley-smilers
Post by: shangaijoeBB on December 22, 2015, 09:29:54 PM
Here's a little gift to you beachheads:

I made a compilation of the Wilson/Paley sessions using the best sources possible, changing speed for certain tracks. Also, because of the huge number of tracks (and not just quantity, quality too!) and a complete reordering of the tracks into a double album: one rock album and one ballad album. I unfortunately left out Dancin' The Night Away and Everything I Need because they have incomplete vocals.

Anyway, it would have made a wicked double album back in '96! I won't go into intensive liner notes and just let the music speaks for itself.
Here's the tracklist:

Disc 1 Rock Album

01 Soul Searchin' (feat. The Beach Boys)
02 Chain Reaction Of Love
03 My Mary Anne
04 Marketplace
05 Desert Drive
06 Im' Broke
07 Proud Mary
08 Saturday Morning In The City
09 Goin' Home
10 God Did It
11 Elbow '63
12 Slightly American Music

Disc 2 Ballad Album

01 This Isn't Love
02 You're Still A Mystery (feat. The Beach Boys)
03 This Song Wants To Sleep With You Tonight
04 Must Be A Miracle
05 Where Has Love Been
06 It's Not Easy Being Me
07 What Rock N' Roll Can Do
08 Frankie Avalon
09 Sweets For My Sweet
10 Some Sweet Day
11 This Could Be The Night
12 Gettin' In Over My Head
13 In My Moondreams

Enjoy and Merry Christmas to all here! :)

Also, the best Promethean Melodies to everyone who'd like to lend an ear.

From the board rules....

Quote
3) Talking about bootlegs is fine. Posting messages asking for bootlegs or offering bootlegs is not fine. That's what private messages and emails are for. The same of course applies to official recordings.

Heart's in the right place, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news in this case, but I gotta do what I gotta do.

Doesn't "offering bootlegs" really imply "offering for sale"?

Rule says "offering bootlegs". No qualifications.

It's pretty much a compilation made from bootleg and official releases to make a brand new double ''album'', so if that qualifies as bootleg, whatever i'll remove the thread.

I just wanted to share BW's best music since Love You with you all in a brand new fashion.

Happy holidays anyway!

What does “This Isn’t Love” have to do with Andy Paley? Pardon my possible ignorance.

You could also upload each track individually as a YouTube video and make a playlist from it.

It's kind of a gray area, legally. Personally, I feel that there's no harm in it as long as there is no profit made. Unfortunately, the 'wrong people' usually disagree with that.

— and all the fan mixes of smile posted here since 2011?

I don't know, I just work here.

Seriously, though, I am trying to get it straight, cause, again, the legalities are a bit unclear.
