Title: Who Did Bruce Call? Post by: Juice Brohnston on December 15, 2015, 04:26:21 PM I assume it's been discussed but, I have never heard who it was that Bruce called when Mike asked him to find a replacement for Brian/Glen.

Title: Re: Who Did Bruce Call? Post by: LeeDempsey on December 15, 2015, 07:04:04 PM I don't have the reference materials handy to back this up, but I recall mention of the following names (and probably a few others):
Ron Hicklin (member of the vocal group The Eligibles, and well-known L.A. vocal coach and session singer) Chuck Girard (The Castells / The Hondells) EDIT: Per Jim Murphy's book, Hamilton auditioned to replace David Marks, not Brian. Post by: LeeDempsey on December 16, 2015, 05:31:54 AM James Griffin, later of Bread, who had accompanied the BB on their Hawaiian jaunt and the following summer tour, was one of the initial suggestions, before Glen joined up... Good point -- there would actually be two lists: 1) the list they initially called when Brian said he would no longer tour, before Glen agreed to fill in (assuming Glen wasn't the first call); and 2) the list Bruce called after Glen decided not to continue, and after he filled in for Glen. The names I provided above may be from the former, not the latter. Lee Title: Re: Who Did Bruce Call? Post by: Malc on December 16, 2015, 06:25:23 AM Actually, being the author of Bread's biography I should've checked my facts, or been familiar with them first (!!) but James Griffin was apparently one of the suggestions made as Glen's replacement, not as one of the initial call-ups, along with Ed Carter and Jerry Cole... as told to me by Bruce himself during research on my book...
