Title: The Merry Christmas from the Beach Boys LP in another era
Post by: CenturyDeprived on December 14, 2015, 11:37:03 AM
What if The aborted "Merry Christmas from the Beach Boys" was written in a different era than 1977? How weird would it have been if there were alternate Christmas-lyric versions of Carl & The Passions? BB85? 20/20?

What would the songs be?

"Where the coal Belongs"

I've spend my whole life searching for a coal for your sock
you've been a bad child this season, that's why I brought you this rock
If you could be a good boy
I may upgrade to a stick so that you won't cry so hard because you annoy me so
no need to search santas big red bag
because the coal is where it belongs
never seen such a brat as you are
snubbing you is right where I belong....

"California Coaling"

"If everybody in Californ-ia would give coal to every Kid-ia
We can go outside and watch them play with them every day
now there's a touch of coal dirt-ia
on the hands of the kids as they play
and when the telephone-ia rings and social services is on the line (I tell them)
California coaling, I give them right away
there's some beautiful dirt all over the wall
to show them that santa hates them today.....

An Xmas offering would have been perfect for the 80's BB's.
"She Believes In Santa Again"
"(Christmas) It's Just a Matter of Time"
"(When Will Christmas Day Be Here) It's Gettin' Late"
"Still Cruisin' (Every Pad With a Little Surprise)"
"Let's Go to Heaven In My Sleigh"
