Title: Heard in local supermarket Post by: Andrew G. Doe on December 14, 2015, 11:12:52 AM Possibly the least likely BB seasonal song - "Bells Of Christmas".
Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: Uncle Jesse on December 14, 2015, 11:17:59 AM I have a Pandora christmas station that I've been listening to throughout the holiday season, and since I gave a thumbs up to a couple of the Beach Boys christmas songs they started giving me some of the rarer christmas songs like Bells of Christmas and Kona Christmas

I have a Pandora channel I like called Rockin Holidays, and I've heard the Brian Wilson version of Little Saint Nick on there a couple times. Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: joshferrell on December 14, 2015, 12:32:50 PM I heard "Runaway Dancer" at a local Grocery store recently...also for a few months Target had "Runaway Dancer" playing in it's dvd/cd section on the video that they would loop over and over again..
Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: ppk700 on December 14, 2015, 05:17:06 PM I heard good ol' "Frosty The Snowman" at Rite Aid last week. The BB take on it is my favorite version (of course).
Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: c-man on December 14, 2015, 08:17:50 PM Last Christmas season, I heard "Santa's Got An Airplane" at Petsmart.
Poor critters. Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: wantsomecorn on December 14, 2015, 08:32:18 PM BW's version of "Deck the Halls" was playing at Goodwill a few weeks ago.
Having never listened to his Christmas album, I thought to myself "This sounds like sh*t" right until I realized who it was. :lol Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: The Cincinnati Kid on December 14, 2015, 08:37:12 PM Already a thread for this. ;)

Having never listened to his Christmas album, I thought to myself "This sounds like sh*t" right until I realized who it was. :lol I love Brian's Christmas album. Maybe it DOES sound like sh*t in reality and we only like it because we like Brian? :-D Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: RangeRoverA1 on December 14, 2015, 09:13:57 PM Already a thread for this. ;) I agree. What's the point of starting new one? Just post there. Anything to get attention, I s'pose.http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,17424.0.html Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: RubberSoul13 on December 14, 2015, 09:27:13 PM I thought the point was to draw attention to Christmas tunes in particular...sadly enough, I've only heard Little Saint Nick countless times this season...nothing else yet!
Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: RangeRoverA1 on December 14, 2015, 09:34:09 PM What the difference? There is thread designed to talk about BBs tunes heard in public places. If this thread was for Christmas tunes *only*, then it has very generic title. Re-name or post in the old topic.
Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: The Shift on December 14, 2015, 10:18:39 PM I think this thread also covers similar ground:

Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: The Shift on December 14, 2015, 10:24:07 PM The thread I linked to could also accommodate the "The Voice…" thread and the "Big Bang Theiry…" thread. We've also got two George Fest threads… no doubt others could be combined…
Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: RangeRoverA1 on December 14, 2015, 10:28:06 PM Thanks for telling. I'll address the 2 George Fest threads. Time for me to check the board around. Hang on! :police: Beware! :police:
Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: The Shift on December 14, 2015, 10:31:44 PM Also "A new (and legitimate) live release" and "1965 archives" which cover the same stuff…
Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: RangeRoverA1 on December 14, 2015, 10:33:04 PM Thanks, that too.

Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: KDS on December 15, 2015, 07:15:17 AM When I used to work at Lowe's Home Improvement, they played Brian Wilson's first #1 single over the PA many times during the summer - that would be Jan and Dean's Surf City.
Also, when Christmas time came around, they played quite a few tracks from The Beach Boys Christmas Album. PS - I don't really understand what's so wrong with the conversation in a thread veering slightly off topic. It's stream of consciousness, and it's common to everyday conversation. So, what's the big deal? Title: Re: Heard in local supermarket Post by: Amanda Hart on December 15, 2015, 06:14:18 PM Black Friday, Nordstrom Rack. I'm standing in line and Frosty The Snowman comes on, so I'm happy. Meanwhile, I spot the eye shadow primer I use for half as much as I usually pay for it at Sephora and then the handful of gifts I was buying were all covered by the leftover balance on a gift card I had at the bottom of my purse from last Christmas. A great two minutes for me.
