I'm making an audio CD for someone who is open-minded but has never really heard anything by the Raspberries. The disc can't exceed 75 minutes. What songs and running-order would you suggest? Here's my initial list/running order. Oh yeah, I'm going to title it "Two-Straw Milkshake" 8) Overnight Sensation I'm a Rocker Drivin' Around Come Around And See Me Ecstasy I Wanna Be with You Rose-colored glasses Let's Pretend I Don't Know What I Want Party's Over I Saw the Light Starting Over Don't Want To Say Goodbye Nobody Knows I Reach For The Light Hard To Get Over A Heartbreak Go All the Way Title: Re: Raspberries Disc Post by: I. But all other 'Berries fans swear by it, so don't listen to me!

Something about the first track, I Wanna Be With You was really frustrating me... Great tune, but the melody of "We wouldn't have to be worried tonight" sounded so familiar... I couldn't think of it, until, as soon as I clicked "Reply", I remembered what it was... "Where in the world will I be?" from The Bee Gees "World"... f***, I just love that melody... that chord progression, whatever it is... Pumps me full of melancholy that. Love it. hormones. Don't think that the Raspberries are given their due today as musicians, vocalists, performers. Never hear them on classic rock or oldies stations. He really is an outstanding singer/songwriter who seems to be forgotten. He can actually compose, not simply write a tune, is a better-than-average lyricist, and my God, the man can sing, whether rocking out full throttle or giving us a delicate, soulful ballad. I just caught this on YouTube, produced for Arista's anniversary celebration. I must say that Eric has changed since his early days, more so than simply aging.
