Title: New T-Shirt Print
Post by: TonyW on November 19, 2015, 01:49:35 PM
Quiksilver Australia (they are not bankrupt) have released a limited range of licensed rock T-shirts including a Beach Boys "1983 Tour" print: https://www.quiksilver.com.au/mens-beach-boy-tour-tee-eqyzt03581?default=260391

Pretty cool. Wish they did it in a female version.

I don't recall the 83 shirt looking like that.

I don't recall the 83 shirt looking like that.

I'm nowhere near an expert on this type of memorabilia. I think this shirt is using the logo that was used on early-mid 80s shirts, including the '83 shirt. But I don't know if one just like this was sold in 1983.

I have a shirt from 1984 that is yellow, and it has this logo, but it's basically this logo and text (but for 1984) but much smaller and in the upper corner, essentially in the pocket area. It also has totally different stuff on the back as well.

I know this sort of "worn/antiqued" retro shirt is popular, but a rough translation to US dollars shows it's in the $35-$40 range.

With some searching, you could probably find a better actual vintage shirt from this era (albeit almost surely used) for a cheaper price.

I'd love for stuff *like* this to be sold, but better designs (and perhaps not just weathered/worn style), and for at least a bit cheaper.

This shirt was posted a while back in the "Keep It Clean With Al Jardine" thread. Available in the US, both short and long sleeve:

I had a 1983 tour jersey, blue sleeves with a small logo over the left chest area. Dennis can be seen wearing one in several pics from the era.

It is completely baffling to me that there is so little Beach Boys merch available. Is it just poor management?

Did anybody catch this shirt on black-ish this week? This was on the episode "Chop Shop" that aired on 11/18/15.

they have been known to have several designs out at once.......especially in more recent years.    One of my favorites was the drum head sunset that came out around that time just after the loss of Dennis.   I still have it somewhere but it is one of those sleeveless jobs that were popular at the time.

Quicksilver UK has the 83 tour design and a C50 design.

And Quiksilver/Roxy UK also do women's tees if anyone is interested.

Not sure whether to ask for one for Christmas!
