Honestly might be my new least favorite song with Brian involvement. Just sounded like a generic do wop song.

It is interesting though as it's kind off a sneak peak of the 15 Big Ones era.

OH YEAH!!! now if we could only get some offical releases of all the unreleased material of the beach boys! Some awesome some im sure not the best but all a nice creative twist by Brain Wilson of his forever expanding creativity of music!

Can't blame the sessions when all Brian came up with was this, ding dang and rework of Battlehymn of the republic. There's nothing to suggest the same man wrote Marcella or Sail On Sailor a year before.
I was really hoping and looking forward to hearing this, but now its omission from everything so far seems perfectly justifiable. Goin To The Beach derserved a slot on MiC over this junk doo-wop ditty.

Makes me fear the same applies to the rest of the mythical Bedroom tapes. And I thought the Cal Feelin and ITBOMM demos were surey just the peak of the iceberg.

My expectations were pretty low to begin with, so I thought the song was alright.

I think it's very much like the material recorded for Love You, just without the synths and the minimised drums.

It almost sounds like a rewrite of Walkin'.

Well, the stories of this track being awful have certainly been proven in spades upon listening to this clearly hidden "gem." Shiiiiiiiiit...bloody awful indeed.

Also, it's probably him on piano, right? Do we know if this is a Wilson/Kalinich song or just a Kalinich song?

Quite likin Lucy Jones though, esp the backing vocals.

I'm enjoying this as well... goofy, to be sure (melody reminds me a little bit of Bony Moronie).  Would have been an interesting album in 75...

Good call folks who suggested the Little Deuce Coupe demo, Walkin', and Hey There Momma. I thought of Walkin' when i listened the first few times.

On piano, the backup vocals, and doing the count-in (and the Come on In at the end).

That...sucked.

So who is on the main vocal? Kalinich?

Filing this along with Lazy Lizzie and Marilyn Rovell under listen to once just for completists sake, then never play again.

Ah ha, so now I believe that in "the "California Feeling" demo, when Brian does his melodramatic voice and shouts "California Feeling -- CAN'T YOU FEEL IT?," he's imitating / poking fun at Stephen...  Makes sense to me now.

I am sure the sound much better and clean if this was a finished track and not just a first time around piano demo! The lyrics are a little odd! But alot of Brians lyrics were odd! especially some adult child stuff

The crazy part is that those are Steve Kalinich's lyrics, not Brian's. :lol

I respect what the man did for Dennis and to a lesser extent Brian's material but listening to both this track and his A World of Peace Must Come record...all that comes to mind is eden ahbez. He's like another eden ahbez, although sadly (or not, depending on your viewpoint) without the reputation and snickers from the strange music revivalists.

I really like A World of Peace Must Come. Stevie is a great poet. I think, aside from being a super guy, that the artistic appeal for Brian and Dennis working with him is that he has a way with purity and innocence in his poems and lyrics. "Lucy Jones" is just silly fun.

I like the album as well, but just like Eden's Island I have to be in the right mood for it.

Well Lucy Jones is 41 years old today! Toke forever for us to finally hear it! So what do we all have left from the 11-12-74 sessions 41 year old  to hear yet>?
