The Attractions’ sessions for King of America were less good-humored and rather uneasy affairs. They all hated T Bone, seeing him as the provocateur. If we’d been making The Beach Boys Story, then T Bone would have been cast in Van Dyke Parks’s role, to my Brian. Hell, I even had a beard. A wildman drummer like Pete could have played Dennis Wilson, and Nieve would have effortlessly covered all the Al Jardine, Carl Wilson, and Bruce Johnston parts. It might sound like a crazy analogy, but it’s funny how Bruce Thomas and Mike Love have never been seen in the same room together. Covers most things you'd want to know, though doesn't wallow in the gossip too much (for example he refrains from going into why he and Bruce Thomas of the Attractions no longer speak to each other)
