I haven't seen this mentioned/discussed before (I could be wrong!) but I think it warrants a new thread simply to draw attention to it. So Little Bird isn't the only "updated" Smile track on Friends... Of course, short of asking Brian himself, we'll probably never know for sure. But it REALLY makes sense. I never thought about this before now.

Making the album may have felt like finally making peace with the Smile music while other group members were now actively involved in terms of writing or even co-producing. Too bad this record was a commercial failure.
