There was a phone call between Saraceno & Regan (allegedly - Jim's book gives roughly 463 different versions of who called them The Beach Boys and when) and at various times both have claimed the honour. Me, I wish they'd stuck with The Woodies...

However, RIP Joe - as per Jim's book, which I've recently consumed, Saraceno was A&R guy for Candix Enterprises and was responsible for getting the Dix brothers to hear the 'Surfin' acetate.

Pretty good contribution to the legacy, I'd say.

lnteresting point. l saw it announced on the FB page for the Wrecking Crew movie, and naturally assumed they knew what they were talking about.

Thanks, seems legit then. Turns out "RIP" or "R.I.P." are better search terms than "dead" or "died" for finding mentions of this on Google.
