Title: Blondie's 1st BB show
Post by: DennysDrums83 on September 19, 2015, 05:14:31 PM
Does anyone know when Blondie's first appearance onstage with the band was?  In the "Beach Boys In Concert" book, it states that Ricky started performing with them in September 1971.  Did Blondie play any shows before becoming an official members in early '72?

"New York State University, State University Plaza, Albany, NY, March 16, 1972."

Both Blondie and Ricky.

Badman, p. 306.  ;)

Rusten, Stebbins, p. 160.

Agd isn't looking at the gigs section of bellagio that we collaborated on or he'd correct that to SUNY Oneonta.  Badmans book is full of errors like that we corrected on the site and in my book

It's an understandable error though.  He probably thought there was state university of New York when in fact there are many of them all over the state.

Correct, Andrew.  I saw the three of them the following week at another college.

So lucky am I to have seen this phase of their performing.    ;)

This time period was the impetus for their fantastic success on the road for years to come.  University of Missouri, April 1972. Saturday afternoon show. Hanging from the rafters. 5 STAR.
