Title: Tracks that have surprisingly appeared on Various Artists compilations
Post by: harrisonjon on August 16, 2015, 04:56:05 AM
I was traveling with a friend last week and was amazed to hear California Saga sandwiched on a compilation called Sail Away 70s beside such stalwarts as Everybody's Talking by Harry Nilsson and Sailing by Christopher Cross. Was this a case of a BB track just being used as compilation filler? Have you had a similar experience? Here is a link:

Seeing Cabinessence pop up on a psychedelic 60s compilation was a nice surprise:

Leo Blokhuis is a Dutch TV personality who has compiled several double CDs with (mostly) obscure songs that he likes. 'Time To Get Alone' is on one of them:

About a year or two ago I was watching one of those PBS 60's music specials, and they were offering a multi cd set for their pledge program.  The cd's offered much of the typical nostalgic hits, but included the BBs' "DARLIN'", which I was surprised to see on such a comp.  Very cool!

Bought an Old Grey Whistle Test 2LP comp decades ago for Sail On Sailor.

There was an EMI patriotic compilation CD back in the '90s called IT STANDS FOR US ALL that included "Fourth of July."  I think I still have a couple of copies of that.
