Title: Dennis POB Special Promo LP Post by: Shane on July 17, 2015, 10:47:51 PM So, I made a really awesome find the other day, in the middle of a box of worthless big band records. I have no clue how it got there. As I understand it, Dennis sent these out to a handful of DJs before the album was released. The cover is plain white. The "letter" on the front cover is pre-printed, with Dennis adding his signature and the custom greeting at the beginning of the letter in his own handwriting. Does anyone know how many of these were made? I've only seen a few on the net.

One of the best stories I heard about one of these was from David Beard, who walked into a local record store, and the owner (who knew David) pulled out from under the counter one of these DW advanced promo albums that had been personalized to a radio station program manager named "David." Oh yeah the handwritten DW promo of the POB LP is definitely rarer than the 91 CD, only 300 of those LP's were pressed (most also have "advance copy" on the label which is different from the regular white label promo), at least a few thousand of the 91 CD were distributed. My friend had a record store and there was a lot of publicity coming through the media and promo people of the day. display pics and lots of magazine mention. there was the media tie in with the Dennis and JT movie.
