Whats funny bout the Ramones passing? Just like dennis & carl passing is depressing, losing any treasured great is a downer.

You missed... all those years start with "19". Much more significant.

How about the two palindromic years? Both contain events that brought Brian and the Boys back into my life:

1991----Wouldn't It Be Nice: My Own Story published
2002----Party at the Palace televised

1964-Beach Boys release the All Summer Long LP, a mostly summer-themed album with one cover version (Hushabye).

1980-Beach Boys release the Keepin' the Summer Alive LP, a partially summer themed album with one cover version (School Days)

1964-Beach Boys release a celebration of rock 'n roll, and themselves, on the All Summer Long LP (Do You Remember Rock 'n Roll?).

1980- Beach Boys release a celebration of themselves on the Keepin' the Summer Alive LP (Endless Harmony).

1964-Beach Boys use older track (Drive-In from '63) on All Summer Long LP.

1980-Beach Boys use an older track (When Girls Get Together from '70— Santa Ana Winds, Endless Harmony and Some of Your Love had older origins, but were more recently recorded IIRC) on Keepin' the Summer Alive LP.

Who said the passing of anyone was funny. It was randomly tacking Ringo at the end of that list which tickled my funnybone.

Just to be CLEAR, I wasn't making fun of the Ramones or anybody passing away. I had no idea that the Ramones had lost 4 original members until I was reading their Wikipedia page yesterday. The bit about Ringo was in fact a funny tidbit to end on. His birthday is tomorrow and he will be 75 years old and looks better than he did in his 20's.
