Wilson has an impressive head of full, graying hair, swept back. I, on the other hand, am bald. “I wish I had your hair. Mine started flying out when I was 35.” He pauses. “What happened?” :lol Really fantastic interview with some great questions and answers. But: ...musicians known as the Wrecking Crew that you’ve heard backing the band on virtually every ‘60’s Wilson hit. ::) Title: Re: New Brian and Melinda Wilson Interview From Salon.com Post by: Empire Of Love on June 04, 2015, 11:58:56 AM Thanks for posting that Rab, what a great interview. I am really glad Melinda took the time to join in. I am becoming a Melinda Wilson fan with each new thing I learn about her. She really sounds like a great woman, and an especially good woman for Brian. The more we learn about Melinda the more the "wifeandmanagers" crowd should feel ashamed. Easy to criticize something you know nothing about based on speculation and "insider info" from "insiders" who often have an axe to grind. But hey, knock yourselves out, Brian seems as happy as he has been in decades and he is supported by a wife who won't take sh!t from anyone and musicians who know and respect his art. He has family, friends, and music. What else could he ask for?
Those of us who still love listneing to Brian's music, or who simply find satisfaction in the fact that the man is alive and doing as well as he is, should all thank Melinda for everything she has done... EoL Very well said, and agreed on EVERY point. Title: Re: New Brian and Melinda Wilson Interview From Salon.com Post by: Andrew G. Doe on June 04, 2015, 02:39:16 PM Best BW interview I've read or seen for many, many years. You get a real sense of the essence of the man.
Title: Re: New Brian and Melinda Wilson Interview From Salon.com Post by: HeyJude on June 04, 2015, 03:35:31 PM I'd be interested to see more of the actual content of the interview. He seemed to get a rare opportunity with both of them, and with Brian pretty relaxed. He said it went well beyond ten minutes, yet there isn't a ton of actual interview content in the piece.

Title: Re: New Brian and Melinda Wilson Interview From Salon.com Post by: Lee Marshall on June 04, 2015, 04:03:52 PM Great little get-together THAT. A good read. Oh and I know the part that YOU will take a degree of offense with too Andrew. [and I quote]
"Some of the movie’s highlights are the meticulous recreations of the master at his best, working in the studio with the Beach Boys and the crack session musicians known as the Wrecking Crew that you’ve heard backing the band on virtually every ‘60’s Wilson hit. Even the "best" interviews keep that old myth afloat. Title: Re: New Brian and Melinda Wilson Interview From Salon.com Post by: Ron on June 04, 2015, 11:10:04 PM The ending Brian-ism was great!
Also it's got a nice picture on the article. One of the interesting things about Brian and Melinda is that Melinda has always kind of taken care of him... but they're getting to the age now, where they're just like other old couples where the wife usually kind of takes care of the husband. So they've aged into normalcy ..... Brian would be lost without her, which is pretty typical of older married gentlemen.... I see that career ending in fire.

Even more maddening for those of us that have known him for a long time. I first met Darian in 1992 and even in person he looks virtually identical now as then.
