Title: The Classics IV Post by: joshferrell on May 11, 2015, 07:51:23 PM who else likes the Classics IV with Denny Yost? I think that they were great.. I really like Denny's voice, my favorite from them is "Everyday with you girl" but I also like "Sunny", "Stormy" and "Spooky" and their real sad songs they did in the 70's...any thoughts?

You didn't mention Traces, The Funniest Thing, Change of Heart, or What Am I Crying For, all of which I remember quite well from the glory days of AM radio. And then there's this obscure Association-sounding gem called Book A Trip:

When I was a kid, I used to go to all these oldies concerts with my dad. I got tickets to one a little later, it probably would have been 1997 or so. Dennis Yost was one of the acts. Unfortunately, it was god awful. It was in a local theatre with about 2000 people, he was so bad, I swear to you they came on stage during his third song and took the microphone away from him. I think he may have been intoxicated. With that said, I don't know what he's done since then or if we've lost him yet, and I do know that his music in his prime was excellent. "Sunny" was a hit for Bobby Hebb btw, not the Classics IV, though it sounds like it should have been! |
