Title: Carl having just as much solo material as Dennis prior to going solo.. Post by: kookadams on April 17, 2015, 05:12:12 PM Its been stated before that prior to POB that dennis had enough solo material to make his own album when considering the combined songs from friends, 20/20, sunflower and holland...cant you say the same for carl? Long promised rd and the trader AND his solo works he used for the BBs in 78/9: full sail, angel come home, goin south, livin with a heartache and keepin the summer alive..

Post by: Lonely Summer on April 19, 2015, 01:24:47 PM I doubt that Carl had a lot of material, but he did reportedly write a bunch of tunes with Randy Bachman in 79/80, and I'm only aware of three being recorded/released - Keep the Summer Alive, Livin' With a Heartache, and What's Your Hurry Darlin'. If there is more, I would like to hear them.

Post by: HeyJude on April 20, 2015, 08:02:19 AM I'm not sure about pre-first solo album, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's more stuff from the 80's (revolving around sessions for his two solo albums in particular) and 90's that we don't know about, along the lines of that "This Is Elvis" track.

Post by: Lonely Summer on April 20, 2015, 11:47:41 PM I remember hearing circa 86-87 that Carl was considering doing another solo album, so he must have had material. Beach Boys Stomp reported on a demo session he did with Jenny Mulduar on a song called "You Oughta Know".
