Post by: Peter Reum on April 07, 2015, 11:23:44 PM
Friends of mine here at Smileysmile are invited to my blog, Reuminations, to take a look at my review of No Pier Pressure. It may be found at blogspot.com. The version reviewed is the standard 13 track album.

As concise, vivid, and beautifully rendered as a 3-minute #1 pop single, only with the wisdom, depth and brilliantly woven themes of a "pocket symphony." Your words here are as timeless as Brian's music, Peter...this beautiful day (and it's GORGEOUS here in SoCal today, right, guys?) is that much more so thanks to you!

Wonderful, Peter. The context of existentialism is brilliant: in that theory, with no God to rely upon, people are faced with a frightening freedom. s you analyze it, Brian's spiritual music is a great affirmation and thus the perfect existential response to the death of God.

Fine sentiments and observations Peter, as ever.  Many thanks indeed… I haven't had chance to listen to the full album yet but will now do so with ears that are somehow more open.

Well im out on the road up to 30 days at a time so i dont get here much like i used to.. Good thing i started to poke around on other pages because if i hadnt i would have missed this wonderfull review//essay.. Another outstanding essay ..Peter has nailed it also just like Wirestone has..  I too am now considered a senior citizen and its not easy when you dont act or feel that way but the world sees you this way.. Peter has totally nailed those thoughts and feelings and what BW is writing and feeling and singing about.. It is wonderfull to come to this board and read such intelligent insightful thoughts.. Thank you.

I wish I lived in a time where correct spelling was something mattered. Thanks for making the world lazy and unable to proofread themselves, internet!!

"As long as I get my point across", right?

What is your definition of "ironic"?

Is it an internet idiot calling out somebody acting like a "professional" on the internet for their inability to spell an album they reviewed's name correctly ?!

Your review has made my day, sir. Until now I've avoided reading reviews of NPP----maybe I was just waiting for this one.

Whenever anyone complains about someone else's use of English on the internet, they always make a mistake themselves.

Peter,  You write from such a unique and interesting perspective.  You talk about music, but fit in a great deal about life as well.  All your reviews do it.  I enjoyed the album review very much.

And your thorough write-up on the Blu-ray/DVD, also great.  I left you a comment on the Blog.

peace brother, Will

Which time would that be, exactly? Spelling has seldom been agreed in any given language upon throughout human history. Standardized spelling is a fairly recent development. Even today spelling in English can vary based on what side of the ocean you live on.

To me, acting civil and showing a modicum of respect to people is far more important than spelling correctly, but to each their own. To be fair, the internet is pretty bad at both.
