Edit: Checking the other thread it looks like that's the case. :-[ Title: Re: Brian Fest Live Stream Post by: joshferrell on March 30, 2015, 09:18:21 PM Does it say it's ended for anyone else? just as they were singing "Til I Die" it shut off for me... Edit: Checking the other thread it looks like that's the case. :-[ Title: Re: Brian Fest Live Stream Post by: Rocky Raccoon on March 30, 2015, 09:59:56 PM I finally got the stupid app to work. It's not amazing quality, it's basically being recorded on a cell phone but whatever, still cool. Wendy and Carnie are singing "In My Room", sounds very pretty.

Title: Re: Brian Fest Live Stream Post by: RangeRoverA1 on May 17, 2015, 08:12:21 AM Just watched it from start to finish. Good show! The links by "Cal Vid" have a better view, but a little subdued sound, what with the audience talk & hush. For songs, I'll advise to see the ones by "rjrjr8".
My favorite number would be "Surf's Up" by the Punch Brothers. It was organic & scrupulous to every detail; no 5th wheel. Also really liked IJWMFTT, "Warmth of the Sun". "Veggie" brought fun with the live noises & thematic costumes, so did "Be True to Your School". Couldn't believe the guy actually added the "wheeen" intro. Local Natives were good, both LHRW & IGA. Never knew about Nora Jones being Ravi Shankar's kid. "Surfer Girl" was esp. beautiful. "Barbara Ann", "Surfin' USA", Fun, Fun..." - everyone seemed into it, they visibly had a great day. Just look at Blondie shaking that tambourine & dancing! Thumbs down: "Cal Girls" (terrifyingly awful choice; Kesha is lost for me). Nice tribute by Carnie & Wendy, I only wish Chynna wasn't so upfront on "In My Room". She doesn't sing - she bleats! Odd to have Sebu on "Help Me, Rhonda", Al would've sang it w/ ANYone else. And last, M. Ward was flatting on "You're So Good to Me". but even w/o it, he's a bad singer. But I'll tell you what - the guitar solo was fan-tas-tic. He breathed a new life with it, it was fresh & original. |
