Post by: PaulTMA on March 24, 2015, 04:29:55 AM Are these going to be all-seated? Any word about presales?
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Ang Jones on March 24, 2015, 04:50:53 AM Afraid I can't answer these questions. Checking with the individual venues is the best way to find out.
Apparently America and Edwyn Collins are supporting, and Blondie and Al witll be there too. Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Sie W on March 24, 2015, 05:24:05 AM Few Links from around the UK

Post by: RubberSoul13 on March 24, 2015, 05:24:23 AM They seem like rather daunting venues...
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: freedomaspirer on March 24, 2015, 05:32:50 AM Urgh, don't get paid for another week! But will surely try for Glasgow.
Yeah, it does seem to be quite ambitious venues this time! I'm guessing in part due to the album/movie/Blondie & Al and possible final tour combination. Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Nicko1234 on March 24, 2015, 05:47:33 AM These venues are much, much bigger than the theatres that Brian has tended to perform in in the past. Bigger even than the C50 venues I guess.
Interesting stuff. Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Fire Wind on March 24, 2015, 05:52:53 AM Brian can fill the O2? That's about 20,000 people.
Well, I'll go, but would much rather it was somewhere smaller (like, say, the RFH). Perhaps this is planned as a final UK tour, which might result in seats being filled, I guess. Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Ang Jones on March 24, 2015, 06:47:52 AM I would also have preferred smaller venues more suited to the kind of music that Brian produces. Glad there is to be another UK tour of course but with reservations.
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Debbie Keil-Leavitt on March 24, 2015, 07:58:37 AM We should stay tuned for more into, I think. It's exciting in any case.
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: HeyJude on March 24, 2015, 08:12:11 AM The article mentions that "America" is going to be one of the opening acts. I don't know how big of a draw they are these days, but I would imagine they still sell tickets well enough to keep touring (weren't they on the bill for a few international C50 shows, such as Japan?), and their inclusion on the bill is surely part of the justification for the larger venues, in addition to the first UK tour of Brian's that has included fellow BB's as guests (other than the couple of shows in July last year with Al).
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Rentatris on March 24, 2015, 12:17:24 PM Anyone want to venture a prediction at prices? Anyone reckon VIP package will be available?...
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Ang Jones on March 24, 2015, 12:30:45 PM The face value prices aren't bad at all, circa £70 top price for London and £10 less for the provinces. How much after Getmein et al have got their hands on them is quite another matter. I would guess that obtaining tickets might be easier than for tours in which Brian was playing theatres with smaller capacity but getting good tickets will, as ever, be a very stressful experience!
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Shark on March 24, 2015, 03:25:42 PM Interesting that America is the support act...they are opening for Mike and Bruce at a number of venues this spring and summer.

America only had one decent hit in the U.K. in 1972 and subsequently haven`t toured there since... Of course, it`s possible that this may be a positive as any fans they do have will know it is the only chance they will have to see them. For quite a few Brits though, myself included, a longer Brian set would have been a lot more appealing. Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Shady on March 24, 2015, 05:33:47 PM That's a lot of tickets to sell, did not see these venues coming.
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: elnombre on March 24, 2015, 09:11:17 PM Very much hoping to make the Leeds date for my birthday. Never thought Bri would come to my hometown.
Also does anyone else suspect that given the size of the venues and the way Brian has been talking in interviews lately that this may end up being billed as a farewell tour? Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Pretty Funky on March 24, 2015, 11:40:09 PM Could be. I would prefer some may be thinking there might be a lot of interest from the movie (plus album/ book) rather than him retiring.
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Cliff1000uk on March 25, 2015, 02:25:33 AM Well, I've just logged onto the Ticketmaster presales and a ticket in row P, Block B112 (above the stalls) is £84 before card charges. I'm assuming the first few rows are VIP packages plus family/friends and then the remaining stall seats will be about £100.
I'm sceptical of how much of the O2 Brian can sell but I'll be very happy to be proved wrong Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: freedomaspirer on March 25, 2015, 02:27:25 AM Just got row D in Brian's presale for Glasgow! First row was available as well, so I assume there's no VIP on the Uk tour.
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Rentatris on March 25, 2015, 03:41:34 AM Just got row B in the stalls for Leeds and Manchester. ;D ;D Happy rentatris....
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: MaxL on March 25, 2015, 08:03:15 AM Row D in Leeds, over the moon with that :D This'll be the closest show to home for a BB's/BW ever for me, can't wait.
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: mikeddonn on March 25, 2015, 10:44:50 AM For sale: 2 face value Glasgow tickets for block 5 (the best floor seating block) Row R. The seats are in the middle of the row. I'm going but I've managed to get tickets in Row D. My wife got the others. Let me know if anyone is interested, I'd hate them to go to waste and thought someone might want these rather than sit further back.
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: RiC on March 25, 2015, 12:22:46 PM Tried 3 times to buy tickets to the O2 concert. Ticketmaster passes out every time during the verifying. What a drag :(
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Andrew G. Doe on March 25, 2015, 02:11:51 PM Very much hoping to make the Leeds date for my birthday. Never thought Bri would come to my hometown. Also does anyone else suspect that given the size of the venues and the way Brian has been talking in interviews lately that this may end up being billed as a farewell tour? Doubt it, or they'd bill it as such from the off. Very ambitious. Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: The Shift on March 25, 2015, 03:17:08 PM Just got Leeds tix, serious thanks for the heads-up.
Wondering the large venues suggest additional special guests? THe last gig is three years to the day since the C50 BBs' RAH gig. Neat coincidence… Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Sam_BFC on March 25, 2015, 04:24:39 PM My summer will be bookended by a 'Beach Boys' gig in May and a Brian Wilson gig in September. Neat.
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Andrew G. Doe on March 26, 2015, 01:35:51 AM Anyone here going to the O2 show ? Maybe we should effect a rendezvous.

Post by: Shady on March 26, 2015, 06:49:26 AM I still can't wrap my head around Brian playing large arenas, so bizarre.
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Rentatris on March 26, 2015, 07:54:12 AM VIP package just announced for US gigs ranging from $279 - $499.
Any idea if this will happen for the UK gigs? Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: SteveJ1980 on March 26, 2015, 08:47:25 AM Got my tix for manchester on O2 presale yesterday, stage centre and 8 rows back! Had decent seats at wembley arena a few years back for the beach boys C50 gig but nothing like these.... This'll be the closest I've been to god!! (And I don't mean Al!!
Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Fire Wind on March 27, 2015, 05:07:25 AM Tickets ain't exactly going quickly at the O2. There are better seats available now than when I booked at 9:15 this morning.
Considering most of my concert-going over the years involved going to see old 60s legends and the like, this is the first time ever I've not had to rush about purchasing a ticket. Well, I did, but I needn't have. Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Shady on March 27, 2015, 12:56:28 PM Tickets for the o2 actually seem to be selling pretty well.
If they advertise it well and get the word out it could easily be a sell out. I'm waiting to see if an Ireland date gets added, if not I'll end up going to one of the UK shows. Birmingham or London. Title: Re: Brian's UK tour.... Post by: Fire Wind on March 27, 2015, 03:09:48 PM Depends where you're looking, I guess. I got mine on Seetickets, where you can still pick up front centre stalls, 10th row. But yeah, they've got a lot of time to advertise.
