Luv this album. Some very '80s music here: New Age, celestial synth-pop. The title track in particular is so majestic & enthralling, w/ its layers of synths. For a song called Sanctuary, it sure has a bittersweet quality to it. But then it is a bittersweet song. The longing of one person for another. Longing for someone being seen as unlucky in love and deserving of real affection. Here in the heart of my sanctuary...

All songs sung by Tom Kelly (co-writer of Like a Virgin). Mike Meros is featured dishing out some pulsating keyboards.

In the book 'The Wilson Project', Brian Wilson tells Gary Usher that Meros gave him a copy of the album & he loved it.

Here's a pleasant, if more conventional (rockin' '80s guitar solo instead of a synth one), cover of the title track by the late Laura Branigan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASo6y0E2sY8

'Lover's Storm', a song performed by Roger Daltrey, written by Usher & Kelly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChwjJ8qmcuk

I adore this album, and picked it up on cd from Japan. The sound is exquisite.

Chances are I'm misremembering, but didn't Usher either write "Children Of The Stars" for the BB - or at least offer it to them - and they turned it down ?
