Title: Brian Wilson - All Solo Tour Post by: Matt H on February 23, 2015, 10:06:37 AM I realize this would probably never happen, but I thought it would be cool to come up with a set list of all Brian solo songs, written by Brian (I didn't include any SMiLE - I still think of it as The Beach Boys). It would be cool if Brain and band could do a handful of these shows, I would travel pretty far from Cincinnati to see one of these (I think an all solo show would be awesome!) Maybe 5 or 6 shows in the US, and additional abroad.
1. Someone to Love 2. Our Special Love 3. The Right Time 4. Melt Away 5. Dream Angel 6. Morning Beat 7. This Isn't Love 8. Being With the One You Love 9. Oh Mi Amor 10. The Like In I Love You 11. Message Man 12. Your Imagination 13. Just Like Me and You 14. Rio Grande <Intermission> 15. My Maryanne 16. South American 17. Good Kind of Love 18. Gettin in Over My Head 19. Lay Down Burden Medley: 20. Midnight’s Another Day 21. Going Home 22. Southern California 23. Desert Drive 24. Nothing But Love 25. Caroline, No Encore: 26. Saturday Night 27. I'm Broke 28. Meet Me in My Dreams Tonight 29. Love and Mercy **I would probably add additional songs once I hear NPP. At a minimum he should appear in every middlesex village and farm !! Title: Re: Brian Wilson - All Solo Tour Post by: CenturyDeprived on February 23, 2015, 10:20:32 AM Powers that be: Please make this tour happen!

Don't forget Stainforth village hall, where they put on very nice tea and cakes. I am guessing it would not be cost effective, and not sell well, but a few shows here and there that people could come to, may do alright. At least that was my thought process. Title: Re: Brian Wilson - All Solo Tour Post by: Lonely Summer on February 23, 2015, 01:05:17 PM I would love to see/hear this. Other than when he is plugging a new album, there has been very little of his solo material in the shows. I still dream of Brian and Van Dyke reuniting to perform OCA live.
Title: Re: Brian Wilson - All Solo Tour Post by: SMiLE Brian on February 23, 2015, 01:13:27 PM Agreed Lonely Summer, I would love even an OCA mini-set with VDP in a BW solo show.
Title: Re: Brian Wilson - All Solo Tour Post by: phirnis on February 23, 2015, 01:18:55 PM I think some of the Paley-era songs might sound good in concert with his current voice. Bring back Taylor Mills and have a go at Everything I Need! :)

Anyone know where I can find this? Anyone know where I can find this? Where you can find "This Isn't Love" you mean? Like on an album? If that's the case, Live at the Roxy. Title: Re: Brian Wilson - All Solo Tour Post by: Michael Edward Osbourne on February 24, 2015, 04:28:40 PM Agreed Lonely Summer, I would love even an OCA mini-set with VDP in a BW solo show. I would love that too! If it consisted of only the first 3 songs from OCA it would be perfect for me. I'd have a helluva smile on my face for sure. 8) Title: Re: Brian Wilson - All Solo Tour Post by: bgas on February 24, 2015, 04:44:49 PM Agreed Lonely Summer, I would love even an OCA mini-set with VDP in a BW solo show. Title: Re: Brian Wilson - All Solo Tour Post by: donald on February 26, 2015, 06:44:48 PM speaking of OCA, I would love to hear that album redone with Brian's current vocal capabilities alongside Alan and Scott Bennett. those are some very solid and tasty tunes. Brian's falsetto was a little strained on that album, which had tremendous promise otherwise. still I get it out and play sometimes. Love the title cut. Pure California. and of course a big salute to VDP.

Those songs deserve to be played live.Title: Re: Brian Wilson - All Solo Tour--Solo, but with........??? Post by: Zesterz on February 28, 2015, 09:02:17 AM Just found out Brian Eichenberger has left The Four Freshmen. His leads will now be taken by Tommy Boynton.
I wonder if Brian has fully joined BW for the anticipated later-this -year touring ?? |
