I went to sleep is a WONDERFUL song, the melody is beautiful, one of the best waltzes Brian ever wrote (there are a lot !)

'I'd Love Just Once to See You'...in the nude!!!   >:D  Rock on Brian...THAT was a great surprise...especially the first time I heard it.  :lol   You Rogue. ;)

I also like 'Dang Me', 'Chug-a-Lug' [Roger Miller's], 'Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah'...both versions ['64 and '65], and Ode to the Little Brown Shack Out Back.

Perhaps a brief explanation of amusing songs puzzling me then?  I'd Love JUST ONCE to see you in the nude?  Once?  And then what?   ???  What if my Mom hears me playin' THIS? :o  Well...I was 15.    Wouldn't be long 'til I got my wish.  I moved out of the house about a month before my 16th birthday.  Something about rules... ... ...and hair.  [and, in retrospect...gettin' lucky. ;)]

They otta take a rope a hang me?  yahoo!!! :o
Kids gettin' pissed?  And again?  And again?   :police:
Summer camp is THAT scary?  :-\
The old outdoor crapper... :thud

I guess that what makes amusement bemusement.

Solar System leaves me a bit bemused. Musically it has some real sophistication
yet the lyrics seem a bit in left field. But, that's Brian for you.

Ah bemusement! My life in a nutshell, I must say, bowing to No Pier Pressure. The masterful Denny’s Drum’s, emotional centerpiece of the wonderful Shut Down Vol. 7 album and as peaceful a track as has made its way to a rock ‘n’ roll album. Al Jardine loved listening to it again and again as he sat waiting for his regular bus. Carl once told Brian he wished there had been vocals. Carl felt only God Only Knows might have been a greater honor to sing.

While there have been claims that Carlos Santana had a hand in the writing – indeed he once tapped out Denny’s Drums on a empty Coke bottle to prove his case – there isn’t any doubt that the work was Denny’s and Denny’s alone. Indeed I breakfasted there this morning, if I recall correctly. It might have been Friendly’s.

Regardless, I find myself bemused that this great work of art is little discussed here or elsewhere – and that I seem to have a small piece of bacon lodged between two teeth. Nevertheless I brave the day.
