OR SO I THOUGHT

I stumbled into a Salvadorian place to buy papusas and saw that they also made horchata. "It tastes a little different", I was warned. Pssh, how can you do horchata wrong? So, they served me my glass.

I took a drink, despite what the glass was trying to tell me. The horchata laughed at me as it stole part of my soul. You don't want this drink.

I just had a pretty good laugh.

It's like.... Rice milk, or almond milk or something with some cinnamon or something. I dunno. It's somewhere between water and cow's milk, and goes great with tacos.


There's a Mexican restaurant and Mexican taco truck I go to that serves some killer horchata. Really makes the meal.



I've also seen it in the soda fountains at the 7 Eleven in my town, but you should stay away from that stuff. I don't think it's really horchata, more like the sugar water with other flavors similar to soda.


So in conclusion, good horchata is good, bad horchata is bad.
