Title: Another Brian collaboration coming..
Post by: Shady on October 28, 2014, 09:35:36 PM
This time with the band Mini Mansions

What is going on ?  :lol

Turner joined the band at the Comerica Theatre in Phoenix on October 25 to perform 'Vertigo', a song he has recorded with the band for their forthcoming new album, 'The Great Pretenders'. The album is due for release in 2015 on T Bone Burnett's Electromagnectic Recordings label and will also feature a guest appearance from Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys.

This is very random but really cool. Brian is popping up everywhere.

Mini Mansions are a band related to and featuring members of Queens of the stone age..

Well this is the best news I've heard all day  :)

Mini Mansions are Michael Shuman, Zach Dawes and Tyler Parkford. They know Wilson through band member Dawes' work as a studio musician. Meanwhile, Shuman is bass player in Queens Of The Stone Age.

Wonder if all these random guest appearances will be gathered on the deluxe version of NPP? Somehow I suspect things won't be that simple!

Am I the only one that read the band name as "Mini Mansons" at first glance?  Now that would be interesting!

Ummmmmmmmmm... hate to tell you this but you're over 13 years late on this one. To be fair, the article is more than a little ambiguous: it mentions a limited edition pressing in 2002, but seems to be largely concerned with this 'new' vinyl release.

And let's not forget it's actually Blondie he sings with.

Heard part of the mini mansions cut on WNKU the other day.   Reminded me a bit of Cherokee trail from BW 88

Really glad that's getting some play. A lot of non BB fans I've played it to have really liked it.
