Title: A Question for the SMiLE Historians Post by: SloopJohnB52 on October 07, 2014, 09:56:59 PM Besides the Smile Sessions Box, Unsurpassed Masters 16/17 (Sea of Tunes), Lost Smile Sessions (Picaresque) and Smile Millennium Edition (Dumb Angel), are there any other sources of high quality Smile material that are not duplicated on these releases?

The Vigotone 2cd Smile I think is what AGD is referring to. Has some "party reels" not on the other CDs you mentioned. Then there's Secret Smile, especially Vol. 1. Title: Re: A Question for the SMiLE Historians Post by: SloopJohnB52 on October 09, 2014, 08:09:09 AM Thanks for the info. I didn't include the 2CD Vigotone in my list because, if I remember correctly, the sound quality did not compare to the others. But Secret Smile seems like it's worth investigating. Is it on the same level as the Unsurpassed Masters?
Title: Re: A Question for the SMiLE Historians Post by: Shane on October 09, 2014, 12:17:58 PM It's definitely worth investigating as it has takes of songs unavailable elsewhere, but the sound quality is so/so. Sounds like it was copied off a cassette.
